Job Description

In the role of a first line Test Manager, this individual will be responsible for managing and leading product test deliverables for IBM storage products. S/He will have responsibility for coordinating test planning, test development and test execution efforts with test architects and test leads. S/He will be responsible for coordinating hardware planning, budgeting, procurement and lab management. S/he will be required to observe strict adherence to test processes with team members and should have the ability to provide crisp and accurate status to program management highlighting risks, dependencies and the mitigation plans. S/He will be responsible for all aspects of people management and should be able to lead by example in all activities through domain knowledge and prior experience. S/He should be able to manage change, remove obstacles for the team and encourage employee growth and opportunity. S/He should be able to advice and coach employees to help them develop their skills to best meet their career objectives and current or future business needs.

Job Skills Required

Technical Skills

- Good understanding of testing methodologies and challenges in system software

- Strong project management skills and experience in delivering system product releases

- Familiarity with test automation tools, inter-operatibility testing and customer support

- Familiarity with storage domain, storage technologies and various storage products

- Ability to review and coordinate the work output of test architect and test leads

Experience Required

This role requires 8-12 years of industry experience in product testing and backend customer support. S/He should have BE in either of Computer Science, Electronics or Electrical Engineering and preferably have MS in Computer Science. S/He should have 5+ years of relevant experience in managing testing activities for system/storage products and should have managed delivery of multiple product releases.
