Job Summary:

Operational support of Voice over IP (VOIP)

Traditional voice related systems and devices

Additionally, support of LAN/WAN devices such as Routers, Switches, DNS/DHCP and Packetshapers required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Customer service skills and client focus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to convey technical information using non-technical language
• Extensive knowledge/experience with Cisco Voice over IP systems and components including Call Managers 5.x, gateways, gatekeepers, routers, switches, IP phones and softphones.
• Must have thorough understanding of traditional call flows and communication protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP, RTP,SRTP, SCCP, ISDN)
• Knowledge and experience operating converged (voice/video/data) networks, including knowledge of: CoS, QoS, WRED and related quality of service parameters.
• Knowledge and experience operating voice/video services across MPLS backbones.
• WAN and voice circuit experience in VoIP environment
• Basic knowledge of BGP, MP-BGP, EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols.
• Knowledge of VPN technologies and IPSec and GRE protocols.
• Understanding of network protocols like FTP, TFTP, NTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP
• Exposure to wireless controllers and access points desirable.
• Exposure to Packeteer packet shapers desirable.
• Previous experience or demonstrable aptitude to be successful in an Administration and Operations capacity
• Organizational and problem-solving skills
